Local groups gathered at Dewsbury Town Hall recently where they were celebrated for the amazing work they do for Dewsbury East. The groups have all been awarded funding from local ward councillors to support local people.
About this video
Photos of local groups receiving certificates in recognition of the work they do in their local community. Between them, these groups contribute to shaping the place they live. They help to reduce loneliness, deliver food to those who can’t get out and about and help people to live more independent lives. They deliver social activities focusing on arts and the environment, and they all do so much to support our communities’ mental health and wellbeing in so many ways! The groups that were recognised at the event include BCM Stars, Artists Attic Trust, 6 Million +, Howlands Centre, Young at Heart, Dewsbury Community Choir, Friends of Caulm’s Wood, Dewsbury Community Outreach, Hanging Heaton Luncheon Group, Thursday Social Club, Sensory World, Dewsbury Library Games Group, and Moorlands Community Group.
Thank you to all the Dewsbury East groups for sharing their story with us at Dewsbury Town Hall. Find out how you can Share your story about getting involved in your local place – in a conversation, or online.
