I wanted to make a difference in my community. I was seeing so many people isolated, with lots of mental health issues, lots of anti-social behaviour and people who needed somewhere to get out, to meet others and have a safe space to go to.
We have sourced support from Kirklees Council and found other sources of support too.
I feel like I have a purpose in life, my confidence has grown so much. I feel like I am making achievements in life by helping others and I realised I had skills I never knew I had.
I have met lots of lovely residents who wouldn’t leave their house that now, with our help, are happy to come to the community centre.
